Initial Screening

Validates the appropriateness of an assessment referral and collects information to assist with the assessment process.

What to expect

Triage is the first step when you contact My Aged Care. A team leader reviews your referral to make sure an assessment is appropriate. Most of these questions are administrative, but some early screening questions about your daily activities and health feed into the full assessment.

Preparation highlights

  • Have your Medicare card ready
  • Know your GP details
  • Think about what prompted you to seek help
